Anti Haul #1- New Makeup I’m Not Going To Buy

I’ve been loving these Anti-Haul videos on YouTube lately. The video was created by Kimberly Clark . She started doing them as a way to combat the rampant consumerism within the beauty community and it has really blown up with lots of really popular YouTubers doing these types of videos. I thought it would translate well into a blog post. Here are some new makeup products that I’m not going to buy and why. What new releases just don’t tickle your fancy? Please tell me so we can stop consumerism together haha.

KKW Beauty Highlight and Contour Sticks and Contour Powder

I just want to start by saying that I’m a huge Kardashian fan whether or not I want to admit it. That being said, the prices on these products are astronomical for the amount of product you get! I have contour stick from NYX that works very well and is 14$. Just because a celebrities name is on something, does not mean the price should be that high. Another thing that should be mentioned is the lack of shade diversity.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette

I love the colours in this palette, however, most reviews I’ve seen have been negative. I would rather spend my money on a palette with good reviews and know I’m getting good quality for what I’m paying. Strange because the Modern Renaissance has one of my favourite eyeshadow formulas of all time.

Kandee Johnson x Too Faced Collab

I really respect Kandee Johnson and I really enjoy her videos and I do love some eyeshadows from Too Faced but I feel like I’ve seen these colours before. Too Faced has some beautiful palettes but I feel like I’ve seen this before. I would’ve liked to see something a little bit more fun coming from Kandee. I will be passing on this.

Too Faced Peaches and Cream Collection

It may seem like I’m a Too Faced hater, but they’re one of my favourite brands! Again, I feel like I have palettes with these colours and lately, I have not been liking the consistency of Too Face’s eyeshadows. I would like to swatch this palette and would not be mad if I was given it, but I will not be spending my money on it.

Urban Decay Naked Heat

The colours in this palette have been calling my name! I reeeeeeaaaally love the colours but I’m not a fan of the Naked eyeshadow formula, to begin with. I find some shadows in the palettes to be chalky and hard to blend. I’ve heard mixed reviews on this palette and I’d rather spend my money on an eyeshadow palette with similar colours such as the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette.
