Skincare from the drugstore has been really making strides as of late. One thing that had been missing though was a good clay mask. Recently, L’Oreal released four Pure Clay Cleansing Masks and I bought one because of course, I had to try them out! I have been looking for a good, reasonably priced clay mask for a while that wouldn’t dry out my skin, and it has been done with the new L’Oreal Pure Clay Cleansing Mask!
Let’s start with the packaging. The product is packaged in a small glass jar with a green lid. On the back of the jar, there is an ingredient list (perfect for people with allergies) and a description of what the product does. It is very sleek and comes with 50 ml of the product for about 12$. The glass is not thin and does not feel cheap, despite the drugstore price tag.
The best part about these masks is that each mask is made specifically for different skin concerns. I bought the blue comforting and unifying mask with real mineral clays and seaweed. This mask is made for sensitive skin which is perfect for my eczema prone face. It wasn’t drying and did not leave my face feeling tight. I used this mask all over my skin because of the dryness I experience, but I’ve seen many people use with combination skin use different masks on different parts of their face. My skin was glowing and hydrated after leaving it on until it was dry (about 25 minutes). The product has a creamy texture and is easy to apply with fingers or a brush. I prefer fingers because it is easier to clean up. There are other masks if you have dull skin, rough skin, or oily skin. L’Oreal has made cleansers to match these masks, although I have not used them. Each mask is made with Kaolinite, Montmorillonite, and Ghassoul plus other ingredients from around the world.
Is it worth it? Yes, I think so. This would be a good mask if you don’t have many clay masks. It is very reasonably priced, so if you don’t particularly find use out of it, it is not the end of the world. It’s definitely a good idea to give this one a try because you may not feel the need to buy many high-end clay masks after you use this drugstore alternative.
